The TSX Venture Exchange lost 7.78 points to 802.47 Tuesday. Two capital pool shells have arranged mining deals for their qualifying transactions. The first of these shells is Daniel Dorey and Pierre Setlakwe's suspended OneCap Investment Corp. (OIC), which plans to acquire a Colombian gold explorer called Rio Moche Exploration Inc. OneCap, which has 7,914,100 shares issued, will issue 26,721,178 shares to Rio's shareholders. Before this QT can close, OneCap must sell a $1-million private placement of units at 20 cents.
The resulting issuer will use the proceeds for exploration.
Rio Moche has an option to acquire a 100-per-cent interest in the Las Marias gold property, which covers 512 hectares in Colombia. To exercise the option, Rio must pay $1-million (U.S.) and spend $4.35-million (U.S.) on exploration over five years. According to Rio, there are 14 small-scale artisanal mining operations on the property, though some of them are inactive. The local government counts more than 40,000 artisanal miners working in the area. Artisanal mining is the only sort of exploration work that has been conducted on the property so far.
