The TSX Venture Exchange gained 4.33 points to 752.12 Friday, ending the week up 21.68 points. Simon Yakubowicz's halted capital pool shell, Cluny Capital Corp. (CLN), has arranged a new potential qualifying transaction, replacing its planned acquisition of Pizza Couture Inc., a restaurant owner in Vaughan, Ont. Cluny Capital now intends to acquire Sandbox Global Ltd., a mobile game developer in Bangkok. The shell has not yet released the terms of the new deal, but it expects to roll back 1 for 3, which would leave it with 1,244,567 postconsolidated shares issued.
Sandbox was formed in December, 2010. So far, it has developed eight games for cellphones and tablets. Two of the most popular ones are Fish Off and Slots Agent, which are both available from the Apple App Store. In Fish Off, users create patterns out of fishes of the same colour. The game is rated appropriate for users aged four and up. It is free to download and play, but users have the option to purchase in-game credits called "fish coins" at prices ranging from $2.79 to $37.99. Fish Off has received an average rating of 4.5 stars, out of five, from 825 users. Sandbox says the game has been downloaded more than two million times. Apparently you have to play it.
