The TSX Venture Exchange lost 5.2 points to 621.72 Wednesday. John Varghese's capital pool shell, Nobelium Tech Corp. (NBL), listed on the TSX-V today. Typically of capital pool shells it did not trade. It is the eighth capital pool shell to list on the TSX-V this year. By this time last year, five shells had listed. Nobelium sold a $350,000 initial public offering of 3.5 million shares at 10 cents, through Richardson GMP Ltd. Including its 9,275,000 escrowed shares, the shell now has 12,775,000 shares issued.

Nobelium is the first shell listed by Mr. Varghese, who has been a director of about a dozen industrial and technology issuers since the late 1990s. Mr. Varghese is also a former chairman of Bay Street brokerage firm Orion Securities Inc., now a part of the Macquarie Group. His shell, Nobelium, is seeking a qualifying transaction in the tech sector. We discussed Mr. Varghese's fellow Nobelium directors and escrow shareholders in the Shell Summary for Jan. 29, 2016.
