The TSX Venture Exchange lost 2.76 points to 505.49 Tuesday. Chris Dobbin has filed a preliminary prospectus to list his first capital pool shell, Nova Leap Health Corp. Richardson GMP Ltd. is selling the shell's $350,000 initial public offering of 3.5 million shares at 10 cents. According to Mr. Dobbin, Nova Leap is seeking a qualifying transaction in the health care sector, particularly with providers of home-based caregiving services.
Mr. Dobbin, 41, is an accountant and the president of Precipice Capital Advisory Services Inc., a corporate finance advisory firm in Nova Scotia. He is also a director of Earth Angels Living Assistance Inc., which offers caregiving services around Truro, N.S., for seniors, veterans, chronically ill or housebound patients, and infants. It sounds like just the sort of thing Nova Leap is looking for. Previously, Mr. Dobbin was a regional director for Atlantic Canada at BMO Harris Private Banking. He was also a senior tax manager at Grant Thornton LLP. Mr. Dobbin is Nova Leap's president and chief financial officer, and one of its three directors. He holds two million of the shell's 10 million escrowed shares.
