The TSX Venture Exchange added 2.3 points to 520.65 Friday, ending the week down 3.28 points. There is much to discuss today in the shell world. Five-year-old capital pool shell Verdant Financial Partners I Inc. (VFI: $0.02) has changed all of its directors and officers. David Mitchell, Keith Harris and Alec Rowlands have replaced Tom Wallace, David Jones, Roger Yates and Peter Marson as directors. Mr. Mitchell has taken over from Mr. Wallace as both chief executive officer and chief financial officer. Last month, the three new directors acquired a total of 690,994 Verdant shares at 7.5 cents from shareholders including Mr. Wallace and Mr. Jones. The acquired shares represent 19.55 per cent of Verdant's 3,534,494 issued shares. According to the new board, it is already reviewing potential qualifying transactions for Verdant. Whatever deal the board finds, Verdant's IPO shareholders will be hoping for 20 cents per share, their break-even price for the IPO.
