New York spot gold fell $8.50 to $1,214.10 on Wednesday. The TSX Venture Exchange reclaimed 13.90 points to 641.36 while the TSX Gold Index dipped 1.98 points to 160.22. Centerra Gold Inc. (CG), which reported a $6-million (U.S.) third quarter profit today, was one of a few gainers among Canadian gold miners. It rose 19 cents to $5.14 on 1.57 million shares.

Randy Turner and Mark Ashcroft's Aurelius Minerals Inc. (AUL), down one cent to four cents on 3.53 million shares, has received assays of up to 8.9 grams of gold per tonne over four metres from its Mikwam project, 160 kilometres northeast of Timmins in Ontario. The assays are from the last nine holes of a 17-hole phase 2 drill program. Mr. Ashcroft, president and chief executive officer, says that the results of the current program, combined with those from the first phase of drilling, had "exceeded expectations." He said that he and his crew were "thrilled with the results of our two programs in 2018," as they demonstrate an expanding continuous gold system at Mikwam.
