New York spot gold rose $1.20 to $1,298.40 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 2.09 points to 768.65 while the TSX Gold Index added 1.47 points to 190.14. Agnico Eagle Mines Ltd. (AEM) was strong. It added $1.87 to $58.52 on 1.74 million shares, but Centamin PLC (CEE) went the other way, dropping 29 cents to $2.11 on 113,000 shares.
Hugh Agro's Revival Gold Inc. (RVG), up 15 cents to 94 cents on 84,000 shares, has an open-pittable resource estimate for its Beartrack project in Idaho. The company lists 33.4 million tonnes indicated at 1.13 grams of gold per tonne and another 16.9 million tonnes inferred at 1.41 grams per tonne, providing a total of just under two million ounces. Beartrack is a previous producer: It yielded just over 600,000 ounces as an open-pit heap leach operation until it closed in 2000 because the price of gold had dipped to below $300 (U.S.) per ounce. Of the two million ounces deemed currently present, 330,000 of them are heap leachable; the other 1.65 million ounces are deemed millable.
