New York spot gold fell $8.60 to $1,332.00 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange dropped 14.33 points to 769.30 while the TSX Gold Index fell 4.34 points to 185.20. Most Canadian gold miners lost ground today. Premier Gold Mines Ltd. (PG) fell 12 cents to $2.67 on 1.48 million shares. Eldorado Gold Corp. (ELD) was stronger, it gained seven cents to $1.14 on 12.49 million shares.

Chris Bradbrook's Superior Gold Inc. (SGI), up 9.5 cents to $1.405 on 418,000 shares, has boosted the ounce counts for its Plutonic gold mine in Western Australia. Thanks to continuing exploration, Plutonic's reserve has more than doubled despite the mine having produced 125,000 ounces since the previous estimates were calculated in the fall of 2016. Superior now has a reserve of 1.44 million tonnes at nearly six grams of gold per tonne underground and 1.72 million open-pittable tonnes at 1.93 grams per tonne, for a total of 382,000 ounces. Mr. Bradbrook, president and chief executive officer, believes that his company has delivered on all its targets, which were designed to show a long-term future for Plutonic.
