New York spot gold gained $0.60 to $1,271.10 on Tuesday. The TSX Venture Exchange gained 0.85 point to 781.31 while the TSX Gold Index added 1.87 points to 198.82. Guyana Goldfields Inc. (GUY) led Canadian golds higher today, adding 18 cents to $4.33 on 1.14 million shares.
Stephen Roman's Harte Gold Corp. (HRT), down two cents to 56 cents on 835,000 shares, has received assays of up to 22.56 grams of gold per tonne over a 4.15-metre interval from the Middle zone at its Sugar project in Northern Ontario. That hit helps confirm the continuity of the mineralization in an area where assays earlier this summer returned values as high as 13.68 grams per tonne over 7.02 metres. Drilling at Middle began inconspicuously three years ago, producing "anomalous gold values," but results have been far better this year, starting in February, when assays topping three grams per tonne over intervals of up to 38 metres were obtained.
