New York spot gold jumped $16.20 to $1,276.90 on Wednesday. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 2.44 points to 762.73 while the TSX Gold Index added 3.61 points to 195.32. Most Canadian golds moved upward today, with Alamos Gold Inc. (AGI) adding 28 cents to $9.88 on 1.39 million shares. Tahoe Resources Inc. (THO) was a laggard. It lost five cents to $6.55 on 4.49 million shares.
Janet Lee-Sheriff and William Sheriff's Golden Predator Mining Corp. (GPY), unchanged at $1.20 on 262,000 shares, has received assays of up to 65.31 grams of gold per tonne over 13.75 metres from the Spades zone on its 3 Aces project in southeastern Yukon. The assays, from another 18 holes, produced several high-grade hits, including 58.75 grams per tonne over 4.57 metres and 50.4 grams per tonne over eight metres in two other holes. Further, the company has encountered gold in new areas, with visible gold encountered at Ace of Diamonds and up to 3.21 grams per tonne sampled at Three of Diamonds.
