New York spot gold fell $1.90 to $1,226.00 on Monday. The TSX Venture Exchange lost 1.64 points to 780.08 while the TSX Gold Index gained 1.15 points to 202.97. Most Canadian golds moved higher although Alamos Gold Inc. (AGI) lost four cents to $8.69 on 3.17 million shares. Eldorado Gold Corp. (ELD) led the gainers, adding 21 cents to $4.87 on 6.20 million shares.
Rasool Mohammad and David Terry's Comstock Metals Ltd. (CSL), up 1.5 cents to 15.5 cents on 121,000 shares, has received assays of up to 10.33 grams of gold over five metres at its Preview SW gold project, 40 kilometres northeast of La Ronge in Northern Saskatchewan. The assays are from three of eight holes drilled earlier this year; the other five tested the Preview North zone, about 2.5 kilometres north of the Preview SW deposit. All three holes yielded gold. A second produced 9.66 grams per tonne over two metres and the third managed 5.31 grams per tonne over 2.3 metres. The drilling was a follow-up program in an area that produced high-grade gold four years ago.
