New York spot gold fell $1.10 to $1,320.50 on Friday. The TSX Venture Exchange rose 3.60 points to 805.53 while the TSX Gold Index lost 0.60 point to 240.00. Canadian gold miners moved little today. Detour Gold Corp. (DGC) gained 55 cents to $31.03 on 1.46 million shares, while New Gold Inc. (NGC) fell 11 cents to $6.52 on 4.96 million shares.

John Burzynski's Osisko Mining Inc. (OSK), up four cents to $2.21 on 339,000 shares, has received assays of up to 11.8 grams of gold over 6.7 metres from another 12 holes drilled at its Windfall project in the Urban township of Quebec. The top assay came from a hole drilled into the Wolf zone, a new find about 150 metres below the previously discovered Caribou zone. As well, encouraging amounts of gold turned up in the hangingwall and footwall of Wolf. As a result, Osisko will direct additional holes in its continuing 100,000-metre drill program toward the Wolf zone.
