The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a mediocre 60-63-167. The TSX Venture Exchange lost nine points to 563 while polished diamond prices edged higher. Gary Economo's Focus Graphite Inc. (FMS) gained one-half cent to 4.5 cents on 2.71 million shares. The company, which has a high-grade graphite deposit at Lac Knife in Quebec, is touting its potential product as worthy of use in lithium-ion batteries.

Dean Taylor's Diamcor Mining Inc. (DMI), up one cent to 35 cents on 14,000 shares Tuesday, had a productive sale of diamonds recovered from its Krone-Endora at Venetia project in South Africa. The company sold nearly 2,980 carats for just over $653,650 (U.S.) in the November sale, an average of $218.82 (U.S.) per carat. Most of the material processed came from the smaller size fractions of gravels, with just a modest amount from the larger stockpiled material being processed. In the company's October sale, Diamcor had sold 2,277 carats for $431,700 (U.S.), or just under $190 (U.S.) per carat.
