The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Wednesday was a cheerful 63-52-142. The TSX Venture Exchange gained two points to 765 while polished diamond prices edged lower. Lukas Lundin's Lucara Diamond Corp. (LUC) fell 14 cents to $2.76 on 778,000 shares. The company will release its second quarter results in early August; no surprises are expected.

Mark Bristow's Rockwell Diamonds Inc. (RDI), last at six cents when it was halted in March, is going through another management change as it tries to complete a business rescue plan and get back to mining alluvial diamonds along the Middle Orange River in northwestern South Africa. Tjaart Willemse, who arrived as chief executive officer as a replacement for James Campbell last September, has resigned. His replacement will be Stephen Le Roux. The move was expected, as in late June Rockwell said that Mr. Willemse's "scheduled departure" was the end of September. That was news to investors, as Rockwell made no mention of a one-year term when it had hired Mr. Willemse.
