The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a ho-hum 62-67-128. The TSX Venture Exchange added four points to 829 while polished diamond prices inched lower. Greg Pendura and Duane Nelson's Iberian Minerals Ltd. (IML) gained 1.5 cents to 8.5 cents on 15.76 million shares. There is no recent news about Iberian's wollastonite or iron projects in Spain to account for the activity today, but there has been interest in the company since it spun off its EnviroLeach Technologies Inc. (ETI: $0.42) at the end of March.

Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC), down six cents to $17.16 on 258,000 shares, is making another exploration push on its Lac de Gras property, south of Ekati and Diavik in the Northwest Territories. The late Robert Gannicott, Dominion's chief executive officer from the late 1990s until he fell ill with leukemia two years ago, created the project in 2011 through an option arrangement with North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR: $0.255) and Dr. Christopher Jennings's Springbok Holdings Inc. The three companies pooled their respective properties in the area and Dominion agreed to spend $5-million over five years -- which it did -- to earn a 55-per-cent interest in the 125,000-hectare project. (Two years later, Springbok sold its 22.5-per-cent interest to North Arrow for 10 million shares.)
