The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a weak 51-77-136. The TSX Venture Exchange fell 16 points to 797 while polished diamond prices fell 0.5 per cent. Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC) slid another 25 cents to $10.72 on 665,000 shares. The company recently joined the TSX's high dividend index, mainly thanks to a steadily declining share price.

Beny Steinmetz and Mark Bristow's Rockwell Diamonds Inc. (RDI), unchanged at 10 cents on 87,000 shares, has a new head. James Campbell, its president and chief executive officer since 2011, has "tendered his resignation" -- although "pressured to quit" appears a more likely scenario. Either way, his departure seems amicable as he has "agreed on a structured handover" that will see him leave at the end of November. (Rockwell says he will work closely with Tjaart Willemse, who will "assume chief executive authority for day-to-day operations," but will report to Mr. Bristow, Rockwell's chairman.)

Why is Stockwatch and Will Purcell always so slanted against GLK ? I thought Purcell's commentary in his Specialty Minerals Summary was at minimum disrespectful and at worst biased bashing of Paul Gorman. Here are that report re GLK and Gormans news release. Stick to the facts Will , no one wants to read your biased opinions. You read a lot more like a schoolgirl than Paul Gorman.

Paul Gorman's Great Lakes Graphite Inc. (GLK), unchanged at 8.5 cents on 234,000 shares, has received two orders from a technology development company operating in the avionics sector for "a high-purity micronized natural flake graphite product" produced at its Matheson plant in Northern Ontario. Mr. Gorman, CEO, says he and his crew were excited and extremely encouraged by the purchase order. Two weeks ago the company was excited about getting five repeat orders, each for 20 tonnes of micronized synthetic graphite products. It is unclear how many orders Great Lakes will get before Mr. Gorman's enthusiasm abates, but his customers probably hope it occurs soon. (The unnamed avionics customer asked Great Lakes to keep the specifics about its application confidential. Although Mr. Gorman did not explicitly spill the beans, his press release was akin to a school girl dashing around the playground chanting, "I've got a secret.")

News release... Great Lakes Graphite chief executive officer Paul Gorman said: "We are excited to be working with our first customer in the avionics sector and are extremely encouraged by the feedback that we continue to receive as we make our initial forays into the growing, value-add graphite market. While they have asked us to keep the specifics about the application confidential, what we can say is that the customer is seeking a source of consistently high-quality, high-purity micronized flake graphite for a demanding technological application."
