The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a poor 44-63-151. The TSX Venture Exchange gained three points to 661 while polished diamond prices inched lower. Matt Manson's Stornoway Diamond Corp. (SWY) gained three cents to $1.01 on 776,000 shares. The company is wrapping up construction of its Renard diamond mine in Quebec.
Patrick Power's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD) slumped two cents to 2.5 cents on 13.46 million shares in late-day trading, after the company's Redemption partner, North Arrow Minerals Inc. (NAR: $0.145), revealed that a spring drilling program came up empty yet again. Nearly 1,600 metres of core and reverse-circulation drilling spread across 28 holes tested targets in the central part of the property, near the suspected head of the South Coppermine indicator mineral train. Unfortunately, none of the targets proved to be a source of the encouraging indicators that meander away westward from the area. Ken Armstrong, CEO of North Arrow, says his company still has a number of additional targets to investigate further, work that could include more drilling. He says the company will determine follow-up plans for the property "over the coming months."
