The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Monday was a weak 36-51-149. The TSX Venture Exchange lost one point to 476 while polished diamond prices inched upward. Ryan Kalt's Strike Diamond Corp. (SRK) hit bottom today, dropping one-half cent to one-half cent on 475,000 shares. The stock, five cents in summer and two cents in fall, began its final tumble after Mr. Kalt resigned two weeks ago as president and chief executive officer and then began selling some of his stock. Guy Bourassa's Nemaska Lithium Inc. (NMX) lost 2.5 cents to 37 cents on 2.11 million shares. There was no news to account for today's activity.

Eric Friedland and Tom Peregoodoff's Peregrine Diamonds Ltd. (PGD), down one cent to 11 cents on 221,000 shares, has settled a dispute with BHP Billiton Canada Inc., its former co-venturer at Chidliak on southeastern Baffin Island. The disagreement began last spring when BHP, in a minor restructuring move, decided to transfer a 2-per-cent royalty on Chidliak to a spin-off entity, South32 Ltd. South32 was created in 2014 so BHP could transfer some of its non-core assets in the Southern Hemisphere to create a new public company. The move, which BHP called a "demerger acquisition," was approved by its shareholders in May, 2015, and South32 thereby became an independent entity, holding, among other assets, the Chidliak royalty.
