Slyce expands Neiman Marcus visual item search service

2015-08-26 09:05 ET - News Release

Mr. Mark Elfenbein reports

SLYCE INC. & NEIMAN MARCUS EXPAND VISUAL SEARCH OFFERING OPTIMIZING ENTIRE RETAIL PRODUCT LINE

Slyce Inc. will complete an escalated deployment of its technology platform with pre-eminent luxury retailer Neiman Marcus.

The significantly expanded Snap. Find. Shop. feature, available in Neiman's top-rated NM app and powered by Slyce, enables shoppers to snap 3-D images of items now across any category -- women's apparel, shoes, handbags, jewellery, home furnishings, children, pets and men's fashion -- and receive direct or closely matching items from Neiman Marcus's product offering, which can be purchased easily at the point of inspiration.

The expanded service agreement with Neiman Marcus, which previously serviced visual search across two categories, shoes and handbags, comes as a result of growing demand for image-based search by mobile consumers.

"Neiman Marcus is a highly progressive company and one with whom we enjoy a strong partnership," said Slyce chief executive officer Mark Elfenbein. "We're proud of the value it has seen from the initial rollout of visual search functionality. Customer adoption of the service has been significant and led to the decision to optimize the entire product offering."

"On-line shopping begins with search -- either through keywords or navigating filters. With the expansion of Snap. Find. Shop. to all categories of merchandise, we are able to exceed our customers' expectations, and allow them to easily shop with us at any time and from any place," said Wanda Gierhart, chief marketing officer, Neiman Marcus Group. "Visual search removes hurdles, taking the customer directly from inspiration to gratification."
