SLYCE LAUNCHES ITS VISUAL SEARCH APP, 'POUNCE' FOR ANDROID
Slyce Inc.'s popular 3-D visual shopping app, Pounce, is now available for Android users. Pounce couples the snap-to-buy experience with seamless, in-app purchasing, allowing users to take a picture of any desired object or upload a screenshot from a visual sharing sites, such as Pinterest and Instagram, and to be directed to all direct or close-matching items from over 30 major retailers.
Retailers accessible via the Pounce app include Best Buy, Walmart, Urban Outfitters, Bed Bath and Beyond, Express, and Banana Republic. Pounce offers access to the catalogues of these retailers through an affiliate network.
"The momentum we've seen for use of our white-label Slyce technology and our consumer apps, Pounce and the just-released Craves, are strong indicators that consumers are turning to their mobile devices to enhance the shopping experience," said Slyce chief executive officer, Mark Elfenbein. "Smart phone visits to e-commerce sites increased by 269 per cent in [the first quarter] of this year, and providing a frictionless journey is essential to further propelling this growth. We are incredibly excited to deliver the Pounce experience to Android users worldwide."

Pounce is the first app of its kind to deliver visual product search to shoppers across a wide range of verticals, including: fashion, home decor, hardware, consumer electronics and toys. The app also has 2-D search capabilities for users who find inspiration in print ads, billboards and catalogues.
Slyce also recently announced the launch of its boutique fashion discovery app, Craves, which is able to search for close-matching products from over 100 select retailers from a snapped or uploaded image.
