Jay Taylor, in the May 16, 2013, edition of Gold, Energy & Tech Stocks, refreshes his buy of Petaquilla Minerals Ltd., recently 32 cents. Mr. Taylor said buy three times from Sept. 20, 2011, to Dec. 20, 2012, at prices ranging from 34 to 82 cents. Assuming an investment of $1,000 for each buy, the $3,000 position is now worth $2,019. For 2013 at the Molejon mine in Panama, Petaquilla aims to produce 80,000 to 90,000 gold ounces at cash costs of $500 to $600 an ounce. Mr. Taylor calculates an operating cash flow of $64-million to $81-million. He says the company will likely begin production at the Lomero-Poyatos mine in Spain before year-end, so total production should rise next year. Lomero-Poyatos has 830,000 gold ounces and 17.3 million silver ounces. Petaquilla is renting part of its land in Panama to neighbour Inmet Mining Corp. for $1.3-million a year. It will also sell up to $100-million of aggregate for road building at Inmet's copper mine. Mr. Taylor notes Petaquilla's market cap is only $70-million. The company has a construction company, which it plans to spin out, and two projects in Portugal for which it expects to release resource estimates this year. The stock should rise in 2013.
