Aldershot adds 28 claims to Wray Mesa uranium project

2011-10-03 11:17 ET - News Release

Mr. Jeremy Caddy reports

ALDERSHOT ANNOUNCES EXPANSION OF ITS LAND POSITION AT THE WRAY MESA URANIUM EXPLORATION PROJECT

Aldershot Resources Ltd.'s wholly owned subsidiary, Royal USA Inc., has staked additional mining claims around its holdings over the Geo No. 1 mine in Lynx-Royal JV LLC's Wray Mesa project area near Paradox, Colo. The mining claims are located in the La Sal mining district of western Colorado near the Utah border. Dennison's operating Pandora mine is located to the west.

Highlights:

  • An additional 28 mining claims totalling 578.5 acres (234.1 hectares) were added to the Wray Mesa project.
  • The new claims are expected to completely encompass the high-grade uranium/vanadium deposit associated with the historic Geo No. 1 mine.
  • Eight drill holes in the current drilling program have been completed to date and continue to provide encouraging results.
  • The project is located within 34 road miles (55 kilometres) of Energy Fuels Inc.'s proposed Pinon Ridge mill site.

Mining claim selection

The mining claim targets were selected due to their proximity to the historic Geo No. 1 mine which was in operation until the mid- to late 1980s when it was shut down due to depressed uranium pricing. The mine, purportedly, was an excellent producer of high-grade uranium and vanadium.

The Lynx-Royal joint venture has been closely monitoring the land position of this area and when it was determined that the previous claimants let their claims drop, Lynx-Royal quickly staked the new mining claims.

Although there is very little physical data, field investigations, previous drilling results coupled with the data from an old map and comments from the previous operators make this a very strong target. The current round of drilling, announced Sept. 20, 2011, is progressing well and continues to provide encouraging results. Eight drill holes have been completed to date with several showing significant mineralization. A full report will be provided upon completion of drilling.

The Geo No. 1 mine is located approximately 34 road miles (54 kilometres) from Energy Fuels's proposed Pinon Ridge mill site. Royal USA is in two strategic joint ventures with EFR.
