AURCREST GOLD ANNOUNCES ADDITIONAL STAKING IN BIRCH LAKE GREENSTONE BELT
AurCrest Gold Inc. has acquired 73 mining claim units totalling of 2,920 acres located 110 kilometres east-northeast of Red Lake, Ont. The company's newly acquired claims are 100 per cent owned in the northern part of the Birch Lake greenstone belt, and situated to the west and contiguous to the AurCrest Richardson Lake property.
The claims were staked by AurCrest in order to acquire the favourable volcanic geological trend along the north shore of Joneston Lake and north of Mink Lake along strike to the west from AurCrest's Discovery zone gold showing situated on the north shore of Richardson Lake. The newly acquired ground hosts a number of historic gold occurrences, which were sporadically explored in the 1980s. The company is continuing to stake claims in the area of the Birch Lake greenstone belt.
