The TSX Venture Exchange gained 2.84 points to 765.94 Friday, but it ended the week down 9.47 points. Emprise Capital Corp.'s capital pool shell, ECC Ventures 1 Corp. (EONE: halted), plans to acquire Propel Blockchain Intelligence Inc. for the shell's qualifying transaction. The shell will split its shares 1.5 for 1, leaving it with 8,475,000 shares, then issue 41,886,667 shares to its target's shareholders. In connection with the QT, the shell and its target plan to raise money, but the terms are not yet available.

Propel says it has a cryptocurrency mining facility in British Columbia, where it uses artificial intelligence to maximize its cryptocurrency mining yield. Little more is known, although of course the company's website is full of the usual important-sounding words such as innovation, optimization and scalability. Propel's chief executive officer is Maxwell Baylin. From 2006 to 2015, he was a director of Gartner Inc. (IT: $132.65 (U.S.)), a New York Stock Exchange-listed information technology company. In 2015, he founded a company called Blue Lasso in Vancouver. Blue Lasso has a mobile app for sales reps. The app helps with documentation and revenue prediction, and it offers advice to users for improving their productivity. On closing of the QT, Mr. Baylin will be the CEO and a director of the resulting issuer.
