The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a positive 66-59-132. The TSX Venture Exchange fell fractionally to 785 while polished diamond prices were flat. Patrick Power's Arctic Star Exploration Corp. (ADD) lost 4.5 cents to 30.5 cents on 988,000 shares. The company has just raised $350,000 for its Lac de Gras diamond hunt.
Jim Gowans's Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC), up six cents to $17.41 on 310,000 shares, plans to drill another old kimberlite at Ekati this summer and if it goes well, it could be bulk sampled this winter. The Kodiak pipe, on the core Ekati property, is one of two old discoveries that Dominion is currently investigating. (The other, Leslie, will be the subject of a concept study -- a step or two below a preliminary economic assessment -- later this year.) The new work at the long-forgotten pipes is the result of Dominion's renewed focus on exploration at Ekati and the surrounding Buffer claims.
