The diamond and specialty minerals stocks box score for Tuesday was a positive 47-42-147. The TSX Venture Exchange gained eight points to 538 while polished diamond prices slumped 1.25 per cent. Robert Gannicott and Brendan Bell's Dominion Diamond Corp. (DDC) gained 23 cents to $14.49 on 469,000 shares. Dominion has been quiet of late but its stock has been interesting, soaring to $24.60 in June then slumping to $12.81 late last month. Brian Findlay's Dajin Resources Corp. (DJI) gained one cent to 14 cents on 1.07 million shares. The company is seeking lithium in Nevada.

Terry Tucker's Tango Mining Ltd. (TGV) unchanged at 1.5 cents on 3.62 million shares, could see its planned acquisition of the BK11 pipe in Botswana fall apart. The company was unable to make a $300,000 (U.S.) payment to Firestone Diamonds Ltd. as required by Sept. 30. Mr. Tucker says he has formally requested an extension from Firestone to allow the company to "complete fundraising activities in relation to the consideration still due." (He means "pay the full amount owed" -- the thick prose is directly proportional to the amount: $7.65-million (U.S.).) Mr. Tucker says Tango is currently in discussions with Firestone, adding that he will let investors know when he has a new deal, or if the deal falls apart.
