James Dines, writing in a Feb. 28, 2014, issue of The Dines Letter, says buy Cannabis Science Inc. at 17 U.S. cents. This is the first time he has recommended the stock, which he includes in his new list of Pot Luck picks. Mr. Dines has added seven pot picks to his list so far. As he started researching companies in which to invest, he says he was stumped by the lack of information. Pot companies are so new that serious information is virtually unavailable, and, even if it were, he says that the companies are just beginning to rev up; clear leaders have yet to emerge. Furthermore, the editor says that Washington's Feds could initiate legal action at any time, sending pot stocks lower. This is also an election year, he points out, another wild card. Normally, the editor says, he would cast a net to include a group of stocks relying heavily on visual analysis. Then, as numbers start coming in, he says that he gradually weeds some out and reinvests the proceeds in emerging leaders. At this early stage, Mr. Dines notes, the risk is obviously high, and should only be done with a small amount of Las Vegas money that could tolerably go up in smoke. These stocks are not for everybody, he warns, telling investors to enter only if it is appropriate to their financial circumstances.
