Introduces Personal Student Edition to Support Classrooms Worldwide; Announces New Student Store for Direct Purchase & Download

MOORPARK, California, November 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --

Cimatron Limited (NASDAQ and TASE: CIMT), a leading provider of integrated CAD/CAM software solutions for the toolmaking and manufacturing industries, announced today the introduction of the GibbsCAM Student Edition, concurrent with the introduction of a new on-line Student Store.

The Student Edition, which complements the GibbsCAM Classroom Edition, is available immediately to NC programming or machining students of high schools, technical schools, colleges and universities already using GibbsCAM in their curricula. Fully compatible with the Classroom Edition, the Student Edition is available for direct purchase and immediate download at the new GibbsCAM Student Store - US$100.00 for a calendar-year license - to students enrolled in a qualified curriculum.

"The introduction of a GibbsCAM Student Edition addresses the growing need and pent-up student demand for GibbsCAM licenses that can be used outside the classroom," said Robb Weinstein, Senior Vice President of Sales and Strategic Planning of Gibbs and Associates, a Cimatron Group subsidiary.

"Given GibbsCAM's de-facto standing as the leader in ease of learning, ease of use, and range of capability, we are happy to offer future engineers, machinists and NC programmers an additional, more convenient, and very economical opportunity to experiment, learn and practice, at their convenience, unconstrained by the duration of a class period. As a result, the Student Edition augments classroom instruction and helps educational facilities better prepare their students for industry."

There are many high schools, technical schools, colleges and universities already using the GibbsCAM Classroom Edition around the globe, including Purdue University's Colleges of Engineering and Technology, which use GibbsCAM throughout their Indiana campuses; Nash Community College, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina; Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech, in Atlanta), Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT) in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, KTH Stockholm University/ITM-DMMS in Stockholm, Sweden, NTNU Institute for Produksj. & Kval.tekn in Trondheim, Norway; and the Académie de Strasbourg in Strasbourg, France.

The Student Edition of GibbsCAM enables students to learn and practice NC programming, and gain familiarity with common configurations of CNC machine tools, on their home-based PCs. It includes solid modeling, 3D milling and turning, and polar and cylindrical (rotary), plus machine simulation and the ability to read ACIS and SAT files, such as SolidWorks and AutoDesk Inventor. Integral to GibbsCAM is its toolpath verification capability, Cut Part Rendering, which provides additional value to students, as it is a highly precise verification and diagnostic tool. The GibbsCAM Educational Editions (both Classroom and Student) enable educators and students to prepare themselves to address the shortage of NC programmers in industry.
