Philippine Airlines to Power New A320neos with Pratt & Whitney's PurePower® Engines

FARNBOROUGH, England, July 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- FARNBOROUGH AIRSHOW -- Philippine Airlines has executed a Letter of Intent to power its order of 10 Airbus A320neo aircraft with Pratt & Whitney PurePower® engines. The PurePower Geared Turbofan™ engine family has completed nearly 10,000 hours of testing and more than 1,400 hours of flight testing. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company.

The Letter of Intent between Philippine Airlines and Pratt & Whitney includes a long-term maintenance service agreement. The PurePower Geared Turbofan™ engine family has more than 5,500 orders and commitments, including options, from more than 50 global customers.
