AK Steel Announces Retirement of Human Resources Executive

WEST CHESTER, Ohio, Feb. 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- AK Steel (NYSE: AKS) said today that Lawrence F. Zizzo, age 64, Vice President, Human Resources, has elected to retire effective March 31, 2013. 

Mr. Zizzo has served in the steel industry for 35 years, joining AK Steel in January 2004 as Vice President, Human Resources.  Prior to his AK Steel career, he held a number of division-level and executive-level positions with the former National Steel Corporation, including serving as that company's Vice President, Human Resources.  Mr. Zizzo began his steel industry career with National Steel in 1978.

Wainscott, Chairman, President and CEO of AK Steel.  "We thank him for his outstanding service, and we wish him great health and good fortune as he enters the next phase of his life."

Mr. Zizzo is a member of several professional associations, and he currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Abilities First in Middletown, Ohio.  He previously served as Vice President of the Middletown Area Senior Citizens Center, and as a member of the Butler-Warren (Ohio) Workforce Investment Board.  He has also been active in the past in the American Iron and Steel Institute and the United Way.

Mr. Zizzo is a graduate of Youngstown State University with a bachelor's degree in sociology and psychology, and a master's degree in criminal justice.
