Charity in Restaurant Competition presented by Chase Sapphire
Chase Sapphire to Donate $1 For Every Vote to Feeding America, Up to
$100,000
Public Voting Open May 10 to July 31 at Chase
Sapphire Facebook Page

WILMINGTON, Del. -- (Business Wire)
Diners can now vote with their palates and raise funds for charity in
the new 8
Great PlatesSMrestaurant
competition to determine the most-loved international cuisine in ten
U.S. cities. Chase
Card Services, a division of JPMorgan Chase & Co. [NYSE: JPM],
announced today the start of public voting for consumers’ favorite
international dishes among eight local restaurant contenders in New
York, Los Angeles, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Miami, Dallas,
Boston, Houston and Atlanta through the “8 Great Plates” Dining App on
the Chase
Sapphire Facebook page. For every vote
cast online through July 31, Chase
Sapphire will donate $1 to Feeding
America, up to $100,000 nationwide. Feeding America will distribute
up to $10,000 to local food banks in each of the 10 cities.
The 8 Great Plates challenge is inspired by the new Bravo culinary
competition series, “Around
the World in 80 Plates,” which premiered May 9. Hosted by food
experts Curtis Stone and Cat Cora and co-produced by Chase Sapphire
Preferred, the show follows 12 chefs in a race across 10 countries over
40 days. In each episode, contestants travel to a different
international city to learn local customs, cultures and cuisines as they
battle it out in two different cooking challenges that test their skills
and determination.
Chase Sapphire partnered with Tasting
Table to select eight restaurants in each city – along with featured
plates – that showcase international cuisines seen on “Around the World
in 80 Plates,” including English, French, Spanish, Moroccan, Italian,
Thai, Cantonese and Argentinian. Consumers can vote for their favorite
plate among the participating restaurants through the “8 Great Plates”
Dining App on the Chase Sapphire Facebook page.
“We chose to present the 8 Great Plates competition to create a unique
way for Chase Sapphire cardmembers, ‘Around the World in 80 Plates’ fans
and food lovers to discover and experience stand-out international
cuisine in their own cities,” said Sean O’Reilly, general manager, Chase
Sapphire. “The competition allows diners across the country to show
their passion for diverse culinary experiences while raising needed
funds to fight hunger. By simply casting an online vote for their
favorite international dish at participating restaurants, consumers can
help raise $100,000 for Feeding America.”
“The ‘8 Great Plates’ partnership is another example of Chase’s ongoing
support of Feeding America,” said Vicki Escarra, President and CEO of
Feeding America. “We are proud to work with Chase Sapphire on this
program that will help deliver as many as 800,000 meals to those in
need. Feeding America is grateful to Chase for helping our food banks
feed nearly 37 million people each year.”
Participating restaurants and featured dishes in the “8 Great Plates”

Voting ends on July 31, 2012. The top-voted plates in each city and the
