Hyve Solutions, a division of SYNNEX Corporation (NYSE: SNX), is proud to announce the division’s approval as the first company to achieve Open Compute Project (OCP) Solutions Provider status, as well as its commitment to invest in promoting the benefits of utilizing OCP technologies.

“We have been integrating and delivering OCP products to Facebook for almost two years, and we began shipping OCP products to other customers last Spring. We are very excited to be an official OCP Solutions Provider. In fourth quarter of 2011, Hyve Solutions provided pre-production OCP Rev. 2.0 samples to customers for testing along with discounted production units. Hyve Solutions will mark its official role with a limited number of no cost production Rev 2.0 samples to qualified customers.

Hyve Solutions has also committed to invest $500,000 in 2012 to educate the market on the benefits of OCP products and will continue to be an early supplier of new OCP technologies. “Meeting with customers over the past year has been amazing,” said Ichinaga. “We originally thought that interest for OCP would come from a small number of Web 2.0 companies. However, the conversations with customers have shown us that a broad range of industry segments - such as telecom, banking, Cloud, national labs, universities, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals - want these types of lower cost and highly efficient IT solutions.”
