RALEIGH, N.C. -- (Business Wire)
New
Media Institute (NMI) has awarded a Standard
of Excellence honor to the North Carolina Lien Agent System
(LiensNC) website, http://liensnc.com.
Each year, NMI acknowledges websites that demonstrate improvement to
public understanding of issues surrounding the Internet and other forms
of communications. NMI has chosen LiensNC
as a 2014 exemplary model of excellence for an online service.
“This award is an honor for the collaborators of LiensNC
and for our state,” said Steve Brown, Executive Board President of
LiensNC, LLC and Vice President / Title Attorney with Investors Title
Insurance Company. “The LiensNC system continues to bring immeasurable
value to the land title insurance industry in North Carolina.”
Recognized as an industry leader, LiensNC
is a web-based project collaboratively created by NIC Services, LLC, a
subsidiary of NIC Inc., and LiensNC, LLC to facilitate the North
Carolina mechanics’ lien law. With a state construction registry concept
in mind, LiensNC
provides a mechanism for potential lien claimants to appoint and send
notices to their mechanics’ lien agent. By doing so, their participation
in a construction project is publicized, which gives closing attorneys
the ability to address any known potential lien interests at closing.
The LiensNC system creates transparency for everyone involved in the
project.
