LINCOLN, Neb. -- (Business Wire)
The Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles launched a significant
enhancement to an existing online service 13 weeks ago allowing
Nebraskans to update their address online from their computer, tablet or
phone. Thus far, 4,500 drivers have already used the application
reflecting a savings of approximately 482 hours of DMV front desk
employee time. Apply an average salary to that time, and it translates
to $7,713 saved to the state agency in less than three months.
“Our front desk employees perform numerous types of services for our
drivers. A service the driver can do online means more time to help
those in the branch office. We are excited to accommodate the largest
number of people possible and promote efficient use of our DMV services
for the citizens of Nebraska,” said Rhonda Lahm, Director of the
Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles.
Nebraska statutory requirement states that drivers are to update their
address within 60 days of moving, and using the enhancement in the
driver license renewal application makes it easy. The driver scans the
documents necessary to prove their address and circumvents the necessity
to make a trip to a driver license office.
The online application and enhancement was developed by Nebraska
Interactive, LLC. “We are thrilled with the productivity of the new
enhancement and ecstatic with the government efficiencies which saves
constituents time and creates more effective government services. It’s
what we do!” stated Brent Hoffman, President of Nebraska Interactive.
The Driver License Renewal/Replacement online application with the
Change of Address can be found by going to http://www.clickDMV.nebraska.gov.
Two types of documentation are required to prove an address with 14
different options to choose from. After documents are submitted, they
are reviewed for approval by DMV driver licensing staff to approve the
valid documentation.
