WILTON, Conn. -- (Business Wire)
Nielsen (NYSE:NLSN) today named human resources veteran Nancy Ramsey
Phillips to Chief Human Resources Officer effective January 9, 2017.
Most recently Phillips was the Executive Vice President and CHRO at
Broadcom Corporation in Irvine, CA prior to that company’s acquisition
by Avago.
Phillips has a 20 year history of success in developing and aligning HR
strategy with business needs. Her experience spans multiple industries,
including technology-driven, digitally focused organizations. Prior to
Broadcom, she was with Hewlett-Packard where she led the HR organization
for HP’s Enterprise Services business group, a global organization with
over 120,000 employees. Earlier in her career, she rose through a series
of HR leadership roles with General Electric and spent time as the Chief
Human Resources officer at Fifth Third Bank during the economic crisis.
She will succeed Mary Liz Finn who announced her retirement from Nielsen
in September of 2016.
“Nielsen will benefit from Nancy’s experience across multiple
industries, including technology, where change is rapid and competition
for talent is fierce. Nielsen’s talented, diverse organization of
40,000+ employees across 106 countries looks forward to her capable
leadership,” commented Mitch Barns, Chief Executive Officer at Nielsen.
“I’m pleased to join a company that is so well positioned for the
future. Nielsen’s strong leadership team and their focus on strategic
digital transformation makes this an exciting opportunity,” said
Phillips. “Combining a workforce strategy and a business strategy
becomes far easier when you add to it a commitment to culture, talent,
and diversity.”
Also a lawyer, Phillips holds a Bachelors of Arts in English with a
minor in Philosophy from the University of Delaware and a Juris
Doctorate from Samford University.
