Recognized by National Association of Counties with 2016 Achievement
Award
RICHMOND, Va. -- (Business Wire)
Stafford County, Virginia, continues to gain national acclaim for its myStafford
Customer Portal. The online bill presentment, payment, and business
E-Filing solution was recognized as an innovative county government
initiative by the National Association of Counties (NACo) with a 2016
Achievement Award in the Information Technology category. Since 1970,
the annual Achievement Awards Program has recognized innovative county
government initiatives across the country in 21 different categories.
The myStafford Customer Portal is a one-stop e-billing and payment
website for citizens and E-Filing and payment service for businesses to
file and pay business fiduciary taxes online.
“We are extremely proud that our customer portal has been recognized
once again,” said Laura Rudy, Stafford County Treasurer. “The myStafford
Citizen Portal is a unique and evolving solution that has become a
defining element of Stafford County eGovernment.”
The myStafford Portal has been providing convenience to the citizens and
businesses of Stafford County since 2013 offering online billing and
payment services for utilities, real estate taxes, and personal property
taxes. A newly integrated E-Filing service for businesses also provides
a secure, mobile-friendly way for businesses operating within the county
to e-file monthly fiduciary remittances for meals tax, transient
occupancy tax, consumption and utility taxes, and quarterly fiduciary
remittances for short term rental tax online.
“Now with business E-Filing, the myStafford Customer Portal is helping
to create a new standard for interdepartmental collaboration,” said
Scott Mayausky, Commissioner of the Revenue. “Achieving national
recognition highlights our shared commitment to serving our constituents
through a quality online experience.”
The self-service portal has won numerous awards and peer recognition,
including the Virginia Governor’s Technology Award for Innovative Use of
Technology in 2014, a 2015 Virginia Government Finance Officers
Association Innovations Award, and a 2015 StateScoop 50 Award receiving
Innovation of the Year honors.
The myStafford Portal and E-Filing service are products of a partnership
between the Stafford County Treasurer, the Stafford County Commissioner
of the Revenue, Stafford County Utilities Department, and Virginia
