WESTON, Fla. -- (Business Wire)
Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital
management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today that customers
S&T Bancorp, RMH Franchise, and Feeding America are taking advantage of
UltiPro’s payroll functionality to process pay with speed and
efficiency, navigate special industry conditions, and adhere to complex
compliance requirements.
S&T Bancorp, Inc. is a $7.1 billion bank holding company that is
headquartered in Indiana, Pennsylvania. The company’s principal
subsidiary, S&T Bank, was established in 1902 and operates in locations
in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York. The company sought a single,
consolidated HR and payroll platform for its 1,100 employees, selecting
UltiPro as its solution of record and going live in April 2016.
“We have already achieved significant savings in our payroll
operations,” said Tim McKee, senior vice president and senior financial
officer at S&T Bank. “We are able to run a simpler, smoother process
with less staff involvement, because UltiPro’s integrated solution
improves data integrity, allows more efficient work flows, and processes
much faster and accurately. This has enabled us to tackle more impactful
projects that improve our service to the company’s employees.”
In the restaurant industry, RMH Franchise, which operates more than 175
Applebee’s locations in 15 U.S. states, faces its own unique payroll
challenges. Prior to UltiPro, RMH was using multiple HCM solutions and
managed many processes by hand, including thousands of wage garnishments
every payroll. After closing an acquisition in January 2014, RMH began
its implementation of UltiPro, and went live three months later. The
company has since grown to a payroll of approximately 10,000 employees.
“We have configured UltiPro to handle the special situations we
encounter,” said Justine Belt, payroll manager for RMH. “We have hourly
employees, salaried employees, and employees who work multiple jobs in
the same pay period, possibly collecting overtime and makeup pay in
multiple jobs. UltiPro’s industry-specific features help us tackle all
of our tip-related issues, such as quickly and precisely calculating the
compensation for employees who work in multiple jobs where tips are
collected differently within a single pay period.”
In addition to easily processing complicated tip-based allocations,
Ultimate’s customers are also reporting a much improved overall tax
compliance process. Feeding America is a network of 200 food banks and
60,000 food pantries and meal programs that together feed more than 46
million people each year. The Feeding America national office in Chicago
selected UltiPro to allow the organization to focus more resources on
fighting hunger. Since going live with UltiPro in April 2011, Feeding
America has transformed its people-focused processes to ensure that
administrative costs remain as low as possible.
“We have a complex payroll, which could be costly to manage. Our
workforce spans 25 states, with many employees who often transition from
one state to another depending on regional needs,” said Laura Juergens,
director of compensation and benefits at Feeding America. “In addition
to the tax complexities of a dispersed team, we also have a large
variety of job codes and types of workers. Before UltiPro, this
translated into a much more time-consuming, frustrating, and laborious
payroll process. UltiPro handles our payroll beautifully, and today it
is faster, more accurate, and requires less manual effort.”
“Running payroll may be the most important business process to
get right, regardless of industry, and UltiPro offers organizations the
flexibility and control to run payroll in the way that best suits them,”
said Adam Rogers, chief technology officer at Ultimate. “In addition to
being the fastest payroll engine in the industry, UltiPro’s payroll
experience is flexible and configurable, processing different
combinations of pay based on unique business needs. Furthermore,
UltiPro’s out-of-the-box compliance is continuously updated and no
third-party tax service is needed for tax calculations. UltiPro’s
payroll solution saves time for HR and payroll teams and increases the
accuracy of data.”
