OKLAHOMA CITY -- (Business Wire)
Thanks to a new online application, obtaining individual Motor Vehicle
Records (MVRs) is about to get easier. Beginning March 26, the Oklahoma
Department of Public Safety (DPS) is launching mvr.ok.gov,
a new online system that serves a one-stop shop for individual driving
history records.
“The launch of mvr.ok.gov
is a testament to DPS’ focus towards modernization of antiquated and
time intensive processes required by many Oklahoma drivers,” said DPS
Commissioner Michael C. Thompson. “This system is another step closer to
bringing convenient and simple processes to Oklahoma drivers.”
Currently, individuals needing an individual MVR are required to
physically go to either a tag agency or DPS headquarters and purchase a
copy of their driver’s history record.
The new online individual MVR application, mvr.ok.gov,
will allow users to purchase their own MVR from the convenience of their
computer or mobile device.
Users will simply enter requested information and will then have the
option to print the MVR immediately, or have a temporary link sent to a
personal email address where they can reprint the record for up to 30
days. All individual MVRs (non-certified and certified copies) are
subject to nominal fees.
For more information or to purchase an individual motor vehicle record,
visit mvr.ok.gov.
The online service is a product of a partnership between the Oklahoma Department
of Public Safety and OK.gov, Oklahoma’s official website managed by
Oklahoma Interactive LLC, member of the NIC Inc. (Nasdaq: EGOV) family
