FRANKFORT, Ky. -- (Business Wire)

Kentucky’s first lady, Glenna Bevin, is excited to announce the opening of the 2017 Kentucky Derby Poster contest. High school students across the Commonwealth may submit their artwork for consideration online, now through Feb. 17, 2017.

“What better way to demonstrate the 143rd Derby than through the eyes of the future of this Commonwealth,” stated first lady Bevin.

The poster is meant to reflect the student’s interpretation of the 143rd Kentucky Derby through a painted depiction. Students interested in submitting their artwork need simply to provide their contact information and a photo of their artwork through the online form. Acceptable photo files are JPEG, PNG and BMP. For more contest details, please visit the first lady’s website.

“We are happy to offer high school students the opportunity to take part in this contest in a quick and easy manner and are pleased to provide the process online,” said first lady Bevin.

All finalists will be asked to provide their original artwork and will be welcomed by the first lady at the Governor’s Mansion for a reception and unveiling of the 2017 poster.

The contest form was built at no cost for the Office of the First Lady through a public-private partnership with Frankfort-based Kentucky Interactive, LLC.
