The Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife is pleased to announce that Maine’s Online ATV & Snowmobile Registration and Renewal service (www.maine.gov/atvsnow) has recently been enhanced. The updated service is now available on all mobile devices and allows for the process of additional transaction types.

The online service, originally developed and launched in 2006, provides the capability for residents to renew an ATV or Snowmobile registration and allows non-residents to renew and register these vehicles in Maine. The newly redesigned service now offers customers the ability to register and renew their vehicles on any screen size, whether it be their smartphones, tablets, laptops, or desktop computers.

The recent enhancement also allows non-resident vehicles to be rolled over to new owners and provides non-resident customers with the ability to register vehicles for varying lengths of time. Additionally, customers are now given the opportunity to register and renew more than one vehicle in a single transaction, significantly reducing the amount of time it takes to process multiple vehicles.

“This update has given us the opportunity to implement changes based on the user feedback we have received over the years and to improve the overall customer experience,” commented Bill Swan, Director of Licensing at Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. “The service is now easy to use on a mobile device, registrants get their stickers much quicker than the previous service allowed, and new registration types are offered allowing most registration types to be processed online.”

The online service was developed at no cost to Maine taxpayers and was created by Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, in partnership with the state’s digital government portal provider, InforME, and the Maine Office of Information Technology.
