OLATHE, Kan. -- (Business Wire)
The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) and digital government services provider
NIC Inc. (NASDAQ: EGOV) are offering a new paper-free,
smartphone-enabled method for visitors to pay recreation fees at Wayne
National Forest through an online service called “YourPassNow.” Wayne
National Forest trails open April 15, 2017, and trail uses other than
hiking requires a permit. This year visitors will have the option of
purchasing and presenting permits digitally through YourPassNow.
YourPassNow simplifies the process of paying for permits by allowing
visitors the opportunity to purchase them online with no additional
fees. Visitors can present their permit immediately, store it on their
mobile device for later or print it.
“The ‘YourPassNow’ online permit system is a great way for visitors to
purchase their trail permit from the convenience of their home or
smartphone. It is available anytime and provides an additional purchase
option for those who do not wish to wait for our office or participating
store vendors to open,” said Wayne National Forest Supervisor Anthony
Scardina.
“NIC is pleased to be working with Wayne National Forest on the delivery
of digital specialty permits,” said Sandi Miller, YourPassNow General
Manager. “NIC is committed to making government interactions more
efficient and convenient. YourPassNow delivers on this commitment by
providing easy digital access to our public lands.”
