The New Jersey Division of Revenue and Enterprise Services (DORES) announced today that it has launched the new online Cigarette Licensing Service. This service furthers the division’s goal of providing New Jersey businesses and citizens with convenient online services, easing the burden for customers to comply with important filings.

The Cigarette Licensing Service allows businesses to easily file an initial or renewal application to obtain their cigarette license. The service provides a user-friendly interface that streamlines the process, provides secure payment processing, and immediately allows users to download their license(s) and if appropriate, the certification(s) for the vending machine(s). The Cigarette Licensing Service, in addition to many other online services, can be found at the DORES website or by visiting the service directly at https://www.njportal.com/dor/cm100.

The mobile-friendly service, available 24 hours per day, verifies the business’s status, checks to see if the application is a renewal or an initial, and directs the user accordingly. In addition to guiding users through the process, the service also provides these features and benefits:

• Secure application process via any Internet-connected device, including smart phones and tablets;
• Pre-loaded data for application renewals;
• Immediate access to cigarette license(s) and the certification(s) for the vending machine(s) upon completion of the application, which can be retrieved up to 30 days from the transaction date.

The Cigarette Licensing Service was developed by the New Jersey Information Division of NICUSA, Inc., which is a vendor to the State of New Jersey.
