Silver Star Energy Inc. has won its bid in B.C. Supreme Court to have a warrant used for a Feb. 27, 2004, search of an alleged boiler room quashed. The RCMP's Integrated Market Enforcement Team seized and copied several documents and the hard drives of 11 computers in a search of the alleged Vancouver boiler room.

Silver Star Energy said that the information used to obtain the search warrant was not sufficient to authorize the RCMP's thorough search, which included video taken of the alleged boiler room. Silver Star also argued that the items taken did not provide evidence backing up hefty fraud allegations made by the RCMP.

The RCMP had alleged that Silver Star, using a Vancouver boiler room, ripped off investors in Canada and the United States by selling shares in "a fraudulent company." The allegations include publishing a prospectus which the company knew was false and failing to identify the "close relationship" between Silver Star and Long Communications Inc., which ran the alleged boiler room.

I wonder if David Baines will write this one up im sure neither him nor anyone at Global TV will make any comments on the fact that the RCMP raided an empty office typical i always have wondered if Baines was part of some kind of short syndicate he always seems to write stories about companies that his article kills anyone else have an opinion?

Posted by Jedi23 at 2004-08-24 23:26

I agree Jedi, it is a wonder. How many deals get to be slammed by a certain reporter who gets to make dubious and speculative comments without any sign of regulatory accountability all the while knowing exactly when and how this so-called "news" will break. An individual with this kind of power doesn't have to do more than "front" for a syndicate of shorters and he's set for life. Talk about moving a market! How much does a business news reporter make anyway? How much easy money does it take to buy a journalist? I wonder if the regulators and enforcers will ever look at the possibilty that they are the ones being duped?

Baines is a scumbag but he would not do anything illegal. I think that he is an irresponsible loose cannon. Remember the pen is mightier that the sword and David uses his pen very effectively as a sword.

What he does is not illegal but it certainly should be. He needs to be regulated too!

No he doesn't he uncovers crooked stock touts like you.We need more guys like him to get the slime out of BC!!!All you stock touts stink!!!Ya hear me

The Justice said that the facts in the case raise a reasonable suspicion of illegal activity. If not for investigative reporters and market detectives, investors don't know what happens in a pump-n-dump 'til their money is gone. Sounds like the cops have something here.

Lets not forget the it's not the first time the boys in blue have heard the name Jamie King. They know who is all right.

Pump and dump not the only scumbag activity that goes unnoticed. Senco Sensors formerly on the TSX got itself delisted for not providing financials. After delisting the managment simply slipped the company out of the country, now in California. They are still manufacturing CO detectors, New slick packaging in the Canadian Tire stores. The Canadian sharholders have been douped out of their investment. I reported this to the TSX enforcement, SEC and RCMP and their comment was that they had recieved the ultimate punishment, being delisted. What a joke the regulators are, that is exactly what they SSZ wanted! Now its a private company! The one in posession of the checkbook and phone is the company!

SSZ/ sncof still trades on the OTC bb but very little as most of the Canadian shareholders are dissallowed from trading the stock.

When will the SEC and RCMP get up to speed with crooks. The company owner even tried to get me to pay $50,000 to hold an annual meeting and pay for financials, which I think is extortion. ( also reported) Crime pays in Canada. They told me that I could always file a civil suit! I'd rather have no laws, then one could simply take care of business themselves.

As far as I'm concerned the enforcment is in bed with the criminals, or at least they provide the environment allowing them to operate.

Baines is usually right on the money in exposing shysters, especially his recent articles which question why Vancouver-based Xraymedia has not been investigated by the regulators. Once in a while, I think he makes a few errors, as he assumes that all promoters are crooked. That may be true for 99% of them, but there are a few honest ones who work on decent deals.

They really have it in for King,I think it's because of the Rick Jeff's link.
