Aurwest samples 0.78 oz/t Au at Weaver Lake

2026-10-06 17:27 ET - News Release

Mr. Cameron MacDonald reports

AURWEST WEAVER LAKE ROCK SAMPLE RETURNS 0.78 OUNCES PER TON GOLD

Aurwest Resources Corp. has released assay results from the phase 1 exploration program completed at the Weaver Lake gold property in southwestern British Columbia. Aurwest holds an option to earn a 50-per-cent interest in the property over three years from Pacific Bay Minerals Ltd. Highlights include a grab sample of a quartz vein that returned 26.7 parts per million gold (0.78 ounce per ton Au) and 1,350 ppm silver (39.4 oz/t Ag). The sample was taken approximately 130 metres east of the interpreted main vein system that was the target of past drilling and underground workings. Numerous other rock, soil and silt samples returned anomalous values that are still being evaluated.

"With these encouraging phase 1 results, we look forward to advancing our Weaver Lake exploration program to phase 2, which contemplates expanded work, including geophysical surveys," said Cameron MacDonald, interim chief executive officer of Aurwest. "Weaver Lake's location in southwestern B.C. is favourable for year-round exploration."

Rock sampling (76 samples) returned high-grade precious metal mineralization consistent with historically documented quartz-carbonate plus or minus sulphide veins. The highest-grade result was sample 82133, which assayed 26.7 ppm gold and 1,350 ppm silver together with 955 ppm lead and 604 ppm zinc. Additional mineralized samples include 82138 (0.29 ppm Au and 135 ppm Ag), 82119 (0.45 ppm Au and 18.15 ppm Ag), 82734 (0.32 ppm Au, 37.9 ppm Ag and 10.35 ppm antimony), 82737 (0.32 ppm Au, 80.3 ppm Ag, 711 ppm lead and 1,080 ppm zinc) and 82124 (0.31 ppm Au and 19.65 ppm Ag). These higher-grade samples are mostly associated with comb- and void-fill-textured quartz veins up to one metre thick (generally two to 10 centimetres) with trace to 1 per cent pyrite as stockwork veinlets, vein selvages or disseminations. Vein mineralization was observed to be structurally controlled. The multielement signature, including pathfinder elements, and the strong gold-silver correlation are interpreted as characteristic of an intermediate-sulphidation epithermal Ag-Au (plus or minus Pb-Zn) system.

Soil sampling (approximately 247 samples) was designed to confirm and expand 1990s gold-in-soil anomalies using modern multielement analysis (aqua regia digestion of a 0.5-gram sample with ICP-AES finish).

The top-two gold anomalies are sample 2376357 (0.36 ppm Au, 7.28 ppm Ag, 145.5 ppm Pb and 29.8 ppm arsenic) and sample 2376191 (0.23 ppm Au, 25.20 ppm Ag and 186.5 ppm Pb). Although absolute gold values are lower than some 1990s results (which reached multigram-per-tonne levels in a handful of samples analyzed for gold only), the 2026 data provide a consistent, georeferenced multielement data set for further targeting and understanding of the mineralized zone.

Nine stream sediment (silt) samples collected from the principal drainages returned supporting anomalies. Sample 2376442 assayed 6.1 ppm Ag, 77.1 ppm Pb, 306 ppm Zn and 40 ppb Au, and sample 2376447 defined a second pathfinder-rich catchment with 3.4 ppm Ag, 70.5 ppm Pb, 276 ppm Zn, 3.5 ppm Sb and elevated arsenic. These results align with regional B.C. Geological Survey drainage anomalies and help vector toward source areas on the property.

Taken together, the 2026 rock, soil and silt results show that high-grade gold-silver mineralization is present at surface in a geological setting most consistent with an intermediate-sulphidation epithermal system. The new multielement coverage will be integrated with historic drilling, underground workings and mapping to prioritize follow-up targets for phase 2.

Sampling methodology and quality control

Soil, rock and stream sediment samples were collected by company field personnel using GPS-located, digitally logged procedures, and were sealed, labelled and kept under the control of company personnel until delivery to ALS North Vancouver for preparation and multielement analysis. Rock samples comprise composite, grab, chip and selective high-grade samples of bedrock, subcrop, colluvium and float. Certified blanks were inserted into the rock sample stream at a rate of approximately one in 24 samples. If analyzed samples exceed the overlimit amount of 25 ppm for gold, samples will be further analyzed using Au-GRA21.

Quality control samples (blanks, certified standards and duplicates) were inserted into the sample sequence. Readers are cautioned that rock grab samples are selective by nature and may not represent average grades, and that soil and silt values are reconnaissance in nature.

Cautionary note regarding historical information

The historical exploration data and analytical results in this news release are drawn from publicly filed assessment reports and other historical records. Neither Aurwest nor a qualified person has verified those data. The historical results predate National Instrument 43-101, and were obtained using sampling, analytical and quality control procedures that cannot be confirmed. Reported drill intervals are core lengths, and true widths are not known. Trench, chip, grab and selective high-grade samples are selected samples and are not, by their nature, representative of mineralization on the property. The property does not host a mineral resource or mineral reserve, and the historical results should not be relied upon as an indication of the presence, grade, width or continuity of mineralization. The company considers this information relevant as an exploration guide only.

Qualified person

The technical disclosures in this news release were reviewed and approved by independent geological consultant David Bridge, PGeo, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101 (Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects). Mr. Bridge is not an officer, director or employee of the company.
