Talisker Resources Ltd. is facing a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of British Columbia from Matrix Aviation Solutions Inc., a provider of services to the camp at Talisker's Bralorne gold project. Matrix complains that Talisker unfairly terminated its contract, doing so after Matrix had supported the company through a difficult period. The suit seeks $229,800 in damages.
The allegations are contained in a brief notice of claim filed at the Vancouver courthouse on Nov. 10, 2023. The suit arises from a contract between Matrix and Talisker dated March 23, 2021. Matrix says that it was to provide housekeeping and catering for a two-year period to Talisker's camp, which is in a relatively remote area west of the B.C. town of Lillooet.
It appears from the suit that all went well with the contract until Talisker began having financial difficulties. Matrix says that despite those difficulties, it agreed that it would continue providing service to the camp, allowing Talisker to continue operations while it raised money. Matrix further says that it understood it would be incurring a loss in the short term. In return, it would be entitled to charge a higher price when the service contract renewed, the suit states.
