The TSX Venture Exchange slipped a fraction to 581.75 Friday, ending the week down 2.75 points. Theodore (Ted) Manziaris and Catherine Wilson have filed a preliminary prospectus to list their first capital pool shell, Trillium Acquisition Corp. The shell plans to sell a $200,000 to $4-million initial public offering at 10 cents through Echelon Wealth Partners Inc.

Mr. Manziaris, 51, lives in Toronto. From 1990 to 2011, he was the president and a co-founder of Turtle Island Recycling Corp., a garbage collection, disposal and recycling company. At some point, Turtle Island was operating two industrial waste management facilities, had 60 trucks in its fleet and had 250 employees. In 2011, the company was acquired for an undisclosed amount by GFL Environmental Inc., a garbage collection, recycling and environmental remediation company that is also based in Toronto. Mr. Manziaris then joined GFL and was its vice-president of business development until 2016.
