inched up a fraction to 537.82 Friday, ending the week up 6.01 points. Eva Koci's first capital pool shell, Klinik Health Ventures Corp. (KHV: $0.20), began trading today, having closed a $3-million initial public offering at 20 cents. Its IPO agent was Bloom Burton Securities Inc. Klinik's stock reached an intraday high of 20.5 cents before closing at 20 cents on 38,000 shares.
Ms. Koci, 48, is a chartered financial analyst in Toronto. Klinik Health is her first public company directorship. She is a partner and the head of capital markets at Oberon Capital Corp., an exempt market dealer. Before joining Oberon in 2013, she spent three years as a managing director of institutional equity sales with Stifel Nicolaus Canada Inc. Before joining Stifel Nicolaus, she spent seven years as a vice-president of institutional equity sales with Jennings Capital Inc.
Among Ms. Koci's fellow shell directors are Dan Legault and Walt Macnee. Mr. Legault, 62, was a director for 17 years at Green Shield Canada, an administrator of health care benefits. He lives in Toronto. Mr. Macnee, 64, is the vice-chairman of MasterCard Inc. (MA: $290.40 (U.S.)). He lives in Toronto and previously spent 18 years with Toronto-Dominion Bank (TD: $73.43).
