The TSX Venture Exchange
gained a fraction to close at 541.70 Monday. Randy Clifford has filed an amended final prospectus to list his fourth capital pool shell,
ANC Capital Ventures Inc. The shell is still selling a $350,000 initial public offering at 10 cents through Mackie Research Capital Corp. The amendment is that ANC Capital has a new director, Leonidas Karabelas. He replaces Eugene Sekora, who died on Oct. 18 at the age of 79. Mr. Sekora was an accountant in Edmonton. He had been the chief financial officer or a director of about a dozen public companies, mostly natural resource juniors and shells.
ANC Capital's new director, Mr. Karabelas, 40, is an investor relations man in Toronto. He offers his services through Focus Communications Inc. He is the IR man for Eric Sprott and Dr. Quinton Hennigh's Australian gold explorer, Novo Resources Corp. (NVO: $2.80). In August, Mr. Karabelas also became the IR man for Mark Jones's Brazilian gold explorer, Tristar Gold Inc. (TSG: $0.21), which counts Dr. Hennigh among its directors (Dr. Hennigh holds a PhD in geology and geochemistry). Tristar Gold has agreed to pay Focus Communications $5,000 a month for 12 months worth of IR services.
