New York spot gold added $19.70 to $3,228.70 on Tuesday as most global stock markets remained uncertain today. The TSX Venture Exchange added 1.71 points to 630.04 while the TSX gold index rose 6.73 points to 490.47. Endeavour Mining PLC (EDV) rose $1.21 to $38.58 on 1.28 million shares today, while Franco-Nevada Corp. (FNV) gained $2.17 to $236.57 on 585,000 shares. B2Gold Corp. (BTO) helped lead the retreat, as it dipped nine cents to $4.62 on 8.51 million shares.
Frank Callaghan's Golden Cariboo Resources Ltd. (GCC) closed unchanged at 11 cents on 164,000 shares on word that it has hit visible gold in another hole at its Quesnelle project in central British Columbia. This is the ninth consecutive hole the company has drilled in which its geologists have eyeballed gold. The latest multiple sightings occurred at depth within a "zone of strong persistent gold mineralization," the company enthuses.
