New York spot gold slid again today, dropping another $47.80 to $1,864.80 on a tough Friday. The TSX-V lost 10.59 points to 620.09 while the TSX gold index slid 10.13 points to 290.92. Most Canadian gold miners struggled today. Oceanagold Corp. (OGC) fell 13 cents to $2.68 on 2.28 million shares while Karora Resources Inc. (KRR) lost 29 cents to $4.73 on 2.04 million shares. Neither had news today.
Scott Berdahl's Snowline Gold Corp. (SGD) rose three cents to $2.40 on 226,000 shares. Snowline did have news, as it revealed a 363.5-metre interval drilled into the Valley zone at its Rogue project, in the mountains of east-central Yukon, averaged 1.4 grams of gold per tonne. The hit included a 42.3-metre near-surface interval averaging 2.15 grams per tonne and a deeper, 129.9-metre zone that assayed 2.03 grams per tonne. That leaves the remaining 191.3 metres with about 0.81 gram of gold per tonne.
